9号は幅30ミリのスクエアケースに機構を複数搭載。搭載している機構はジャンピングアワー、リワインディングミニッツ、トゥールビヨン、アワーストライキング、パワーリザーブインジケーター。
時刻表示は文字盤の右半分に配置され、上のディスクが時、下のディスクが分。暗所で時、分の数字を照らすよう、下に蓄光ブロックを組み込んでいる。正時になるとジャンピングアワー、リワインディングミニッツ、アワーストライキングが作動する。
アワーストライキングは文字盤左のパイプライン形状のゴングをハンマーがたたき、インダストリアルな音色を鳴らす。
中央に位置するリワインディングミニッツは、レトログラード機構の一種であるが、アナログ体重計のような動きをする—ディスク中央のひげゼンマイがバネの役割を果たし、1時間に一度、分ディスクを巻き戻す。ぜんまいの残量は、文字盤中央右にある棒状のパワーリザーブインジケーターにより表示。
ケースバックはステンレスの塊をくりぬいたソリッドバックで、手首にフィットするようにアーチ状のフォルムを持つ。
OTSUKA LOTEC № 9 brings together multiple complex mechanisms within a compact 30 mm square case. It features a jumping hours, rewinding minutes, tourbillon, hour-striking, and a power reserve indicator.
The time display of the № 9 is positioned on the right half of the dial, with the upper disk indicating the hour and the lower disk showing the minutes. For better readability in low light, a luminous block is embedded beneath the disks, illuminating the numerals from below. At the top of each hour, three mechanical functions spring into action: the jumping hours, rewinding minutes, and hour-striking.
The hour-striking activates a hammer that strikes a pipeline-shaped gong on the left side of the dial, producing a crisp, industrial chime.
At the center of the dial lies the rewinding minutes mechanism—a type of retrograde mechanism that moves in a way reminiscent of an analog body weight scale. A hairspring at the center of the disk serves as the driving force, snapping the minute disk back to zero at the top of every hour. The power reserve is indicated by a slim indicator just right of center on the dial.
The case back is carved from a solid block of stainless steel and shaped with a gentle curve to fit comfortably on the wrist.
9号に搭載されるCal. SSGTは新たに開発された自社製ムーブメントである。駆動方式は手巻。サイズは41.3mm×26.4mm、高さは10.35mm、部品点数は278点。香箱など一部でCal. 6498の部品を使用している。機能はジャンピングアワー、リワインディングミニッツ、トゥールビヨン、アワーストライキング、パワーリザーブインジケーター。メインプレート（地板）の上に様々な機能を載せていく様子が、寿司下駄の上にネタを並べるようだったので、「SUSHIGETA」から「Cal. SSGT」と名付けた。
トゥールビヨンのダイナミックな動きをみせるためにテンワをオフセット配置している。正時になるとジャンピングアワー、リワインディングミニッツ、アワーストライキングが作動する。アワーディスクの中心軸、アワーストライキングのハンマー可動軸にはミネベアミツミ社が9号のために開発した、ルビーボール・ボールベアリングを採用した。
The Cal. SSGT, featured in № 9, is a newly developed in-house movement by Jiro Katayama. It is a manual-winding movement and measures 41.3 mm × 26.4 mm with a thickness of 10.35 mm, comprising 278 components. Some components, such as the barrel, are taken from the Cal. 6498. It powers a range of complications, including a jumping hours, rewinding minutes, tourbillon, hour-striking, and a power reserve indicator. The name of the caliber, Cal. SSGT, draws inspiration from the way multiple complications are layered on the main plate—much like placing sushi on a sushi geta (wooden plate). From this, the name "Su-Shi-Ge-Ta" was shortened to "Cal. SSGT."
The tourbillon is offset to create a dynamic motion. At the top of each hour, the jumping hours, rewinding minutes, and hour-striking functions are set in motion. For the central shaft of the hour disk and the hammer pivot of the hour-striking, custom ruby ball bearings made by MinebeaMitsumi, specifically designed for № 9, are used.

「電力メーター（誘導形電力量計）のように、ガラスケースの中に様々な機械部品が並び、その動きを眺められるような腕時計をデザインしたいと思い立ち、ムーブメントをゼロから設計しました。載せられた様々な機能部品があらわになっている構造は、真空管、カメラの軍艦部、工業地帯の景色などと通じるものがあるかも知れません。サファイアクリスタルの中で動作している部品のひとつひとつから、工業機械の質感、振動や動作音が伝わってくるような腕時計を目指しました。」
“I came up with the idea of designing this wristwatch that, much like an induction electric meter, would let you see different mechanical parts arranged inside a transparent case and watch them in motion. So, I set out to design the movement completely from scratch. The way the exposed parts present themselves might remind you of things like vacuum tubes, a camera viewfinder, or even the cityscape of an industrial area. With № 9, I wanted to create a watch where every moving part under the sapphire crystal gives off the feeling of industrial machinery — its textures, vibrations, and sounds.”
